Welcome to Prime
Prime is for institutions that hold assets with an MPC custodian such as Fordefi or Fireblocks, or in their own multisig, and want to lend or swap on chain without moving those assets to a hot wallet or having every signer approve every trade.
You create a Prime Account, a multisig account on Stellar. Custody then sets up a custody gate that lets the account draw on custody's funds within limits custody chooses. The account's signers add rules for what an agent or operator may do, and the account contract checks those rules on chain before anything runs.
What a setup includes
Custody sets up the gate once, with the venues funds may go to, a wait and, optionally, a recovery address. These can't be changed later. Custody also grants the gate an allowance per asset, which it can change or revoke whenever it likes.
A rule sets a venue, an amount band, who approves and an optional wait. Moves that have to wait are stored on chain, and custody or the account's signers can cancel them before they run.
Moves run through the account's execution contract, which can pull from custody, swap and send the proceeds back in one transaction.
Current status
Prime runs on Stellar mainnet at app.untangled.finance, with Aquarius and Blend pools as venues. The same app runs on Stellar testnet at beta.untangled.finance, where you can try a setup with test funds first.
Prime's contracts (OctoGate) have been through our internal adversarial review and threat modelling, and an external audit is in progress. An EVM version runs on the Base Sepolia testnet; see Prime on EVM.
Where to start
The walkthrough sets up a full example in seven steps, each with a short video. For the concepts first, read How Prime works.
